Merit Health Wesley Announces Chief Medical Officer

Hattiesburg – Merit Health Wesley proudly announces William (Bill) L. Reno III, M.D. as its new Chief Medical Officer. As Chief Medical Officer, Reno will play an important role in ensuring that the highest standards of quality and service are maintained for patients in the hospital.
“Dr. Reno is a strategic and innovative thinker with a proven ability to communicate effectively,” said Mike Neuendorf, Chief Executive Officer. “I look forward to what we can accomplish through this new collaboration.”
Reno will be responsible for creating clinical guidelines to ensure that healthcare delivery runs smoothly. He will also help support Merit Health Wesley’s medical staff, ensuring the hospital remains a positive place for physicians to work. Reno will continue in his private practice as well, working as a plastic surgeon at Plastic Surgery Center of Hattiesburg.
Reno is a long-time member of Merit Health Wesley’s medical staff, having served in several key leadership roles, including the Board of Trustees, Medical Staff President, Department of Surgery Chairman as well as many physician-led committees.
Reno completed medical school at University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he was a member of the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha national medical honor society, which is awarded to the top ten percent of medical students. Reno completed a residency in general surgery at University of Mississippi Medical Center and completed a residency in plastic surgery at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga. He is board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery.
